1. Overview

At IndiaBestBuy, we respect your right to control your personal data. This policy explains how you can request the deletion of your account, what data will be removed, what data may be retained for legal purposes, and how long the process takes.

2. How to Request Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your account through any of the following methods:

a) Via the App

  1. Open the IndiaBestBuy app and log in to your account.
  2. Go to ProfileSettings.
  3. Tap “Delete My Account”.
  4. Confirm your identity via OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
  5. Your deletion request will be submitted immediately.

b) Via Email

Send a deletion request from your registered email address to support@indiabestbuy.in with the subject line: “Account Deletion Request”. Please include your registered mobile number in the email body to help us verify your identity.

3. What Data Will Be Deleted

Upon account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed:

  • Your name, email address, and mobile number.
  • Saved delivery addresses.
  • Cart contents and wishlists.
  • Active sessions and authentication tokens.

4. Data We May Retain

Certain data may be retained after account deletion as required by applicable Indian laws and regulations, including:

  • Order records and invoices — retained for up to 7 years as required under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act and the Income Tax Act, 1961.
  • Payment transaction records — retained for the period required by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
  • Fraud prevention and security logs — retained for up to 90 days to detect and prevent fraudulent activity.
  • Dispute records — retained if there is a pending complaint, refund claim, or legal dispute associated with your account.

All retained data is stored securely, used only for the stated legal purposes, and deleted once the retention period expires.

5. Processing Timeline

  • Account deletion requests are processed within 7 business days.
  • You will receive a confirmation email once your account and associated data have been deleted.
  • If your account has pending orders, we will complete or cancel them before proceeding with deletion. You will be informed of any delay.

6. Effect of Account Deletion

  • You will lose access to your order history and past invoices.
  • Active orders will be cancelled (subject to our cancellation policy).
  • Your mobile number will be released and can be used to create a new account in the future.
  • This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

7. Cancelling a Deletion Request

If you submitted a deletion request and wish to cancel it, you may do so by contacting us at support@indiabestbuy.in within 48 hours of submitting the request. After 48 hours, the deletion process may be irreversible.
